US President Donald Trump on late Thursday (local time) announced that the newly formed "Board of Peace" had reached what he described as a "historic agreement" for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza, saying the phased deal would eventually lead to the withdrawal of Israeli forces and the establishment of a new Palestinian administration.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the agreement marked "a monumental step toward lasting peace and security" and represented a major milestone in the implementation of his "20-Point Plan" for Gaza.
"Today, the Board of Peace reached a historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza," Trump wrote.
