Monty Python star Terry Jones ' dementia has become so severe he can no longer speak, his co-star has revealed.
Terry Gilliam shared the sad update on his pal as he dashed hopes that the comedy troupe would ever reunite again.
The five surviving members, which also includes Michael Palin, Eric Idle and John Cleese, delighted fans when they reunited for a special live event in 2014, but Gilliam says there's no chance it'll ever happen again.
He told the Daily Star Sunday : "There's no chance of us doing a reunion. There's only four of us left that really function now. And that is not Python, so there's no point."
The 2014 reunion was the sixth time the group have reunited following their huge success in the 1970s.
Together, the Pythons created some of the world's most famous comedy sketches of all time and released a number of hit movies, including Life Of Brian and The Holy Grail.
But Gilliam, who has been working on new Amazon Prime Video series Good Omens with David Tennant and Michael Sheen, says they're all busy doing their own thing now.
He said: "We're all doing things. We're all busy. Michael is flogging a book and John has been doing a television series."
And it seems the group's huge success can sometimes be a little frustrating.
He said: "I get the same old crap said back to me all the time. It just goes on and on. It's always the same thing."
