Monty Don has shown fans how he's remembering his wonderful golden retriever, Nigel.
Monty, 64, was devastated when Nigel died two months ago, his companion through years of presenting Gardener's World.
And while he still has two other dogs - another golden retriever, Nellie, and Patti, a Yorkshire terrier - Monty's remembering his old friend of twelve years in a very special, very personal way.
Taking to Instagram, Monty revealed he'd had a garden pot specially crafted with Nigel's name, dates of birth and death.
"This arrived today from Whichford in memory of the old boy," Monty wrote.
"I shall have to plant it appropriately #tennisballtree."
He was met by a flood of fan support from those who loved the sweet idea.
"Just proves how loved Nigel was," one commented, "turned over the page of the [Gardener's World] calendar this week and there he was - made me smile."
"Sweetest thing ever!" another wrote.
"How very thoughtful and beautiful with a touch of sadness," a third offered, "It would be lovely planted with forget me nots and of course a tennis ball. Sweet Nigel, never forgotten xx."
A fourth gushed: "Stunning piece for a gorgeous boy."
Monty got Nigel as a puppy back in 2008, and shared the news of his death in May this year.
"I am very sorry to announce that Nigel has died," he wrote.
"To the end he was happy, healthy and his usual calm, lovely self. But he was suddenly taken ill and he slipped away quietly with no pain or suffering and is now buried in the garden with lots of tennis balls.
"Rest now old friend. See you in the sweet bye and bye."
Gardener's World also paid tribute to one of its famous stars as it shared a heartwarming compilation of Nigel's best moments.
He pranced through flowers, tore through Monty's garden, and waited for Monty to throw his ball as viewers sobbed.
Meanwhile, Monty shared a snap of Nigel as a puppy, and announced on what would have been Nigel's 12th birthday that he'll be raising a glass in his memory.
