Montez Sweat and Dwayne Haskins ranked as top two values in 2019 NFL Draft

It doesn’t take an NFL expert to tell you that the Washington Redskins absolutely crushed the draft this spring.

With two future franchise players — quarterback Dwayne Haskins and Edge Rusher Montez Sweat — both falling to the Redskins at picks lower than predicted, Washington made out with a load of talent on the cheap.

USA Today’s DraftWire recenty ranked every 1st-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft based on value, and it’s safe to say that the Redskins were rewarded for their picks.

No. 1 | Montez Sweat

Sweat comes in at No. 1 in the rankings. He was originally pegged to be a top-10 pick, but health concerns over a heart issue (which some say was misdiagnosed) let him fall late into the first round. The Redskins pounced on the opportunity and traded back up into the 1st round, selecting Sweat with the 26th pick.

No. 2 | Dwayne Haskins

What about Dwayne Haskins, you ask? Don’t fret, he’s ranked as the second best value pick in the draft. Many believed that, behind Arizona’s Kyler Murray, Haskins was the second best QB in the draft. Yet, he was the third quarterback taken, as the New York Giants selected Daniel Jones with the No. 6 pick. Nonetheless, Washington got the guy they wanted with the No. 15 pick, without having to move any assets to trade up and get him.
