Report: Assault charges against Montae Nicholson dropped

The Washington Redskins and safety Montae Nicholson got some good news coming out of rookie minicamp.

According to Kareem Copeland of the Washington Post, Nicholson is no longer facing misdemeanor assault charges stemming from an off-field incident in December.

The Redskins had said they were aware of the incident when it happened, but everything went silent on the matter while the process played out.

With this seemingly in the rearview, Nicholson can get back to focusing on attempting to nail down a starting spot next to Landon Collins.

Thanks to an odd offseason for the safety position, though, the Redskins could look to spice up the competition there with someone such as Tre Boston.
