Today was when the next Monster Hunter Showcase was supposed to go live and give players the latest news on Monster Hunter Wilds and Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.

However, Capcom has announced on its social media platforms that the Monster Hunter Showcase has now been postponed due to a recent tsunami warning issued in Japan.

The tsunami warning in question was caused by an earthquake off the north-eastern coast of Japan at 2:33 pm GMT | 9:33 am ET | 6:33 am PT with a 7.6 magnitude (as reported by Sky News).

Thousands of citizens have been told by the Japanese government to evacuate as a tsunami up to three metres high is expected to follow the earthquake and cause widespread damage to low-lying buildings.

The developers at Capcom are following the evacuation order by cancelling the Monster Hunter Showcase until further notice.

This Monster Hunter Showcase was meant to reveal more information regarding Monster Hunter Wilds' upcoming 4th Title Update, which will feature the return of Gogmazios from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate as an endgame boss.

It was also meant to show off more features of the upcoming title update, such as:

  • New endgame systems like upgrading the Artian Weapons to their final form using Gogmazios materials and upgrading armor into Transcendent Armor with higher defense.
  • PC performance improvements to address CPU and GPU complaints players have been review-bombing the Steam version about for months.
  • Easier methods to obtain Armor Spheres.
  • Balance adjustments for all Weapon Types.
  • New 9-star quests.
  • A new Seasonal Event called the Festival of Accord.

The Monster Hunter Showcase was also meant to show us new information regarding Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, the latest entry in Monster Hunter's turn-based spin-off series.

Back in October 2025, the game showed off its character creator system, opened pre-orders, and released a trailer revealing the return of Yama Tsumaki, an Elder Dragon that hasn't been seen in a Western-released Monster Hunter title since Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.

Stay tuned for more updates as we keep a close eye on the new broadcast date for the Monster Hunter Showcase.
