CHANDIGARH: Monsoon is likely to arrive in the city between June 30 and July 2.
On Thursday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36.7 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 24.2 degrees. The next three to four days will be dry and the maximum temperature will remain between 36 and 38 degrees.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Chandigarh, there will be a slight increase in the temperature and from next week, the city will receive showers.
Manmohan Singh, director, IMD, Chandigarh, said, “The mercury will rise in the coming two to three days. And after that, the city will receive light to moderate rainfall. We are expecting the monsoon to enter Tricity between June 30 and July 2.” Monsoon is expected to be above normal.
