Monklands roads to close for repair work next month

A range of work will result in three Monklands roads being affected by closures next month.

Manhole construction by Scottish Water will see Robertson Street in Airdrie close, from Park Street to Seath Avenue, all day on Sunday, June 6.

The latter two roads and the A8010 Aitchison Street will be available as alternative routes.

Meanwhile, the town’s Airdriehill Road is shutting for four days from Monday, June 7, for carriageway resurfacing works.

This will apply between Burnhead Road and Ballochney Road and motorists can use both those roads and the B8058 Connor Street, the A89 (Forrest Street and Airdrie Road) and Meadowhead Road as diversions.

And Coatbridge's Gartgill Road will shut, between Gartgill Cottage and Wilton Street, all day on Monday, June 14.

This is to allow for the completion of work by Network Rail.

Motorists will be able to use Gartsherrie Road, Lomond Road and Wilton Street as alternative routes during the closure.
