Monklands roads hit by week-long closures as repair works start

A trio of Monklands roads will be closed for construction work this month.

Banchory avenue, Glenmavis, between Strathyre Gardens and Crathie Drive, is shutting from 8am to 6pm on June 16.

This is to allow for manhole works by Scottish Water and drivers are advised to use Balmoral Avenue and Crathie Drive as diversions.

Russell Colt Street in Coatbridge will close from 10pm on June 17 until 6am the next day for railway bridge works.

The area affected will be 25m east of the B804 Coltswood Road and drivers can use Stewart Street, West George Street and Coltswood Road as alternative routes.

Finally, Glenmavis’ B802 Condorrat Road is shutting for five days of carriageway repairs from June 22.

This is between Brackenhirst Road and Ryden Mains Road and the former road and the A73 Stirling Road and the B803 Raebog Road will act as diversions.
