Monklands nominations wanted for Young Scot awards

Nominations are now open for the 15th annual Sunday Mail Young Scot awards – and organisers would like to hear about inspirational young people from Monklands.

The awards honour outstanding people, aged between 11 and 26, who are making a difference in their communities by taking action in a range of areas.

Categories at the awards this year are young hero, community, volunteering, unsung hero, enhancing education, sport, health and wellbeing, equality and diversity, arts, entertainment, environment, enterprise and international.

Nominations are open at youngscotawards.com until February 14, and winners will be announced at a live online ceremony on April 22.

Young Scot chief executive Louise Macdonald OBE said: “The awards are a way for us to celebrate the achievements of Scotland’s young people who’ve given so much to our communities recently.

“If you know a young person who impresses you, or someone who’s gone above and beyond to help others, then we want to hear about them.”

Award sponsors this year include Skills Development Scotland, Solace Scotland, Sportscotland and the British Council Scotland.

See youngscotawards.com for more details and to make a nomination.
