Members at Airdrie and Coatbridge Islamic Centre celebrated Eid by making generous donations to Airdrie foodbank.
They handed over a welcome cash boost of £440 plus a bumper collection of 60 kilograms of food items, collected after prayers at the end of Ramadan.
Foodbank manager David Findlay said: “The members of the Islamic Centre have been very supportive and this was a great boost.”
The Islamic Centre is also hosting a family open day on Saturday, which runs from 11am to 3pm and includes a mini zoo, face painting, henna art and photo booth – with further donations being collected for the foodbank and chosen charity Mavisbank School.
