Monkey puzzle tree stolen from Crieff churchyard

A tree has been stolen from a Perthshire churchyard.

The monkey puzzle tree in St Michael’s Church in Crieff was taken at some point between Sunday, October 6 and Monday, October 7.

It had been dug up out of the grounds.

Police officers investigating the theft are now asking members of the public with more information to come forward.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland’s Tayside division said: “Between 1pm on Sunday, October 6 and 1pm on Monday, October 7, a monkey puzzle tree was dug up and stolen from the grounds of St Michael’s, Church Street, Crieff.

“Anyone with any information that may be useful should contact Tayside division on 101 or speak to any police officer, quoting the crime reference number CR/27048/19.

“Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
