MoneySavingExpert's warning to Sky customers after price hike

MoneySavingExpert has revealed how Sky customers can escape upcoming price hikes.

The finance gurus have shared their tips for leaving Sky penalty-free or haggling down your bill.

Sky is raising broadband, phone and TV prices this month by up to £72 per year.

TV and broadband customers will have seen their monthly costs rise on April 1, while landline customers will see their charges increase from May 1.

While most customers will see their monthly expenses rise by around £3 a month, some could see their costs rise by £72 per year.

Customers should have been notified of the price hike, and MoneySavingExpert have said that many still in contract can leave penalty-free within 30 days of being notified of the hike.

To do this, contact Sky by phone (on 03337 593922), online or by post.

But if you want to stick with Sky you can also haggle your costs down.

MoneySavingExpert recommends you benchmark the best deal elsewhere so you ask for a realistic discount.

It's also worth getting through to the retentions (sometimes called disconnections) department.

They have the most power to slash costs, as their job is to keep you.
