MoneySavingExpert Martin Lewis signs off social media to be a 'husband and a daddy'

Martin Lewis has signed off social media for the year, telling his followers "Thank you and goodbye."

The Money Saving Expert told his fans he would be absent from social media for the rest of the year, so he can concentrate on being a "husband and a daddy."

Martin shared a statement to Twitter today explaining his decision to sign off.

He said : "Thank you and goodbye for now. This is (hopefully) my last tweet before the festive period. Good riddance to a bad year.

"I want to thank all of you for your continued support, for sharing important information to get key messages out and your kind words and your incisive comments.

"I'm signing off social media now to focus on being a husband and a daddy. I'll be back in 2021.

"May I wish all who celebrate as joyous, peaceful and contented a Christmas as possible.

"Stay safe but grab every smile, laugh, giggle and moment of fun with abandon. We all deserve it.

"For those that find this time of year difficult, grief-filled or lonely - and sadly I suspect this year there will be more than ever - may your passage through it be as easy as can be.

"See you all in 2021, Martin."

Martin has been keeping his followers informed of all the latest news regarding the coronavirus crisis, alongside his usual money saving tips.

He's had a series of special shows on primetime ITV to discuss furlough and financial help for those affected for the pandemic.
