Moneygun and St. Lou's Assembly open patio with bocce ball, free party

May 12--Chef Jared Wentworth is throwing a party this weekend, and you're invited.

To celebrate the opening of the 100-seat back patio at Moneygun bar and attached restaurant St. Lou's Assembly, Wentworth (chef/partner at both) and colleagues invite customers to what they're calling the "We're Out Back" porch party.

From 4 p.m. to midnight on Sunday, May 15, drink beer compliments of Hopewell Brewing (while supplies last) and order from a cash bar featuring lavender gin lemonade, rye sweet tea, margaritas, mojitos, pina coladas and mai tais ($10-$11 each).

The full St. Lou's "meat-and-three" menu (think a meat and three sides) will be on offer; order out back and your food will come in a picnic basket.

Live music at the party includes a performance by country-punk-folk banjo player Al Scorch. DJ Johnny Walker will spin soul, funk and '70s music after 8 p.m.

The new West Loop patio features stadium seating and a bocce ball court. Head there all summer for Moneygun and St. Lou's drinks, plus soft-serve ice cream cones, boozy floats and sundaes, and mini Lil' Oscar coolers packed with beer.

Moneygun, 660 W. Lake St.; St. Lou's Assembly, 664 W. Lake St., 312-600-0600.
