Money Saving Expert's '10-minute' benefit advice as millions hit by £20 cut

The Money Saving Expert team has urged Brits to check if they are eligible for benefits as millions of people are hit by cuts.

The £20 a week uplift to Universal Credit was officially brought to an end this week.

And Martin Lewis' team has called for anyone affected by the reduction to take the free benefit calculator test to see if they could be entitled to any additional support.

The Money Saving Expert Team said: "Now that many government support initiatives, such as the £20/wk Universal Credit uplift, have come to an end, it's more important than ever to know what you're entitled to.

"Make sure you're not missing out: our 10-minute calculator will show you what you might qualify for and how much you could get."

The Money Saving Expert's free test has been built by specialists Entitledto and will calculate any additional benefits people are entitled to in low income support.

Government figures show that up to 7.5m households are missing out on £15b a year of means tested benefits.

The finance guru urged people of all incomes to try the check as households earning up to £73,000 a year could be entitled to help.

The team said: "The main thing to remember is benefits are NOT just for the unemployed. Even someone earning a high salary could be eligible for some help."

To perform the check, the Money Saving Expert team advise you grab any info you've got on savings, income, pensions, and existing benefits - and assure that all information you provide will remain anonymous.
