Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis urges PayPal customers to check accounts fast as they give away £1m

PayPal users could be in luck.

Martin Lewis has urged them to check their accounts after the firm distributed £1million to random users.

The Mirror reports the online payments giant is handing out what it calls "golden tickets" worth between £5 and £50.

But you'll need to be quick as PayPal users only have a limited time to claim them.

The money saving expert says users should check their account to see if they have won any of the cash.

And it couldn't be easier to find out if you are a lucky recipient.

All you have to do is log into your account and see if you've been allocated one of the "golden tickets."

Martin admitted your chances of the winning are fairly slim - at around 1% - but with checking costing so little effort, it would be a waste not to.

If you've been lucky, the amount will be added to your PayPal credit and will be applied to your next PayPal spend automatically.

But, crucially, you need to spend it by 11.59pm on Monday, September 30 or your prize money will disappear.

It's valid on any online purchases through PayPal so long as it's in British pounds, with a few exceptions there's no minimum spend and you don’t have to use it all in one go - so you could choose to spend it in multiple smaller transactions.
