Money laundering case | Probe agencies should be transparent and not vindictive, says Supreme Court

The Supreme Court on Tuesday said an investigating agency should be fair, transparent and not vindictive.

The observations by a Bench of Justices A.S. Bopanna and Sanjay Kumar came while granting bail to Basant Bansal and Pankaj Bansal, directors of Gurugram-based realty group M3M, who were arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case.

The Bansals had moved the top court against the July 20 order of the Punjab and Haryana High Court that had dismissed their bail pleas.

The money laundering case in which the duo had been arrested pertained to an FIR filed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau of the Haryana Police in April against a former judge, his nephew and a third M3M group director.
