Money Heist fans infuriated by vile rapist character and beg Netflix to kill him off

Netflix's Money Heist viewers were sent into a frenzy when the latest season finally dropped on April 3.

The hit Spanish-language thriller returned with our favourite criminal characters and finally provided answers to some burning questions as the group battled to extract the gold from the Bank of Spain.

Season four of the Netflix show, known to Spanish speakers as Casa De Papel, marked a turning point in the drama as violence among the group and the police became inevitable.

Despite being gripped by the high-pressure heist, a number of viewers were less than impressed by Arturo's storyline and want to see him gone.

The annoying character, played by Enrique Arce, is one of the hostages captive within the bank.

While Tokyo, Rio and the gang battle to save Nairobi, Netflix writer's decided to bizarrely give Arturo a storyline where he simply goes from bad to worse.

At one point in this particular sub-plot, Arturo gave another hostage some pills and explained they would 'calm her nerves'.

In the scene, the drugged-up hostage called Amanda drifts in and out of consciousness as Arturo draws increasingly close.

Cut to later in the episode and it dawns on Amanda that she had been raped by Arturo - a claim he desperately denies.

"I f arturo isnt gone by season 5 imma scream, i cant take to look at his face again #CasaDePapel #MoneyHeistS4," one fan wrote about the character.

Another begged for his character to be killed off: "Arturo, please just die on the episode 1 of Money Heist part 4. I'm tired of seeing your annoying shit face. Just diiie."

Fans were left baffled by the decision to make Arturo a vile rapist despite his story line appearing not to progress anywhere.

"La casa de papel writers killing the best characters in the show while Arturo the rapist is still alive and well," wrote another.

Others noted that while the focus is on the ensuing battle between the lead characters and the police, the real threat is more subtle.

"The real villain in Money Heist (La Casa De Papel) is not Alicia Sierra, not Alfonso Prieto but, its the fucking rapist, Arturo Roman. I wanna burn him alive," wrote another angry fan.

As with the previous seasons, Money Heist's writers have left even more unanswered questions as the violent season came to a close.

As bosses recently teased that season five and six is likely to be on the cards, it remains to be seen what purpose, if any, Arturo's arc will play.

Money Heist (La Casa de Papel) Part 4 is available now on Netflix.
