Money grab at cash machine leads to hunt for young female robber

A woman has been left shaken after money she had just lifted from a cash machine was snatched by a hooded female.

The robbery happened at the Co-op in Neilston Road, Paisley early last night and detectives are now combing CCTV images.

The raider - in her 20s and wearing a black hoodie and disposable face mask - pounced moments after the woman had taken the money from the machine.

DC Colin Leggat from Paisley CID is heading the hunt for the robber.

He said: "This is a rare type of incident and the victim, who is aged 57, did not have time to get the money into her bag.

"The cash was grabbed from her hand and she was shaken up as you can imagine, though was not physically injured."

The thief is white, in her 20s, slim-build and pale complexion, wearing a black hooded top and throw away face mask.

The incident happened at 7.20pm at the Co-op at 62 Neilston Road.

Help catch her by calling Paisley police via 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 free and anonymously.
