Monday's recap: Indians 4, White Sox 1

March 31--The summary

Right-hander Hector Noesi gave up back-to-back home runs to Bradley Zimmer and Brett Hayes in the fourth inning Monday as the White Sox fell 4-1 to the Indians at Camelback Ranch. Those homers accounted for all three runs Noesi allowed over 51/3 innings. He gave up five hits, walked two and struck out five.

At the plate

Catcher Tyler Flowers hit a solo home run to center field off Trevor Bauer, his third homer of the spring, for the Sox's only run.

On the mound

Reliever Zach Duke gave up a solo homer, but relievers Javy Guerra and Zach Putnam each turned in scoreless outings.

In the field

First baseman Jose Abreu was away from camp for personal reasons. Conor Gillaspie started his fourth game at first base in his place and made an unassisted double play in the seventh inning.

Key number

3.68: Spring ERA for Hector Noesi in four Cactus League starts.

The quote

"I'm definitely getting more comfortable, probably the last five, six days, where we had some quality at-bats throughout and felt very comfortable, confident in there. I'm ready for the season. Two weeks ago I wasn't." -- Flowers.
