Arthur & George
9pm, ITV

Episode two of ITV’s Sherlock-adjacent drama, based on true events and loosely adapted from the 2005 Julian Barnes novel. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Martin Clunes, with convincing Scottish burr and semi-convincing moustache) continues his investigation into the conviction of solicitor George Edalji (Arsher Ali) for a series of grisly horse rippings. With the aid of his faithful secretary Woodie (Charles Edwards), Doyle looks for fresh leads in the village of Great Wyrley, causing friction with the local coppers. Graeme Virtue

The Billion Pound Hotel
9pm, Channel 4

An inside look at Dubai’s £1bn Burj Al Arab hotel, which occasionally entertains despite itself. “Highlights” include marine biologist Warren relating how he was once mistaken for a sardine by a zebra shark, and concierge manager Oscar subjecting an interviewee to his special “luxury test” (“At least you know you don’t get kitten heels from a pet shop”). But essentially, this is less documentary than straight travelogue, featuring such penetrating questions as: “So, why do you need a rotating bed?” Ali Catterall

The Mystery Of Murder: A Horizon Guide
9pm, BBC4

“Are murderers really that different to the rest of us?” asks this documentary presented by Michael Mosley. There’s no definitive answer, in that “murderers are both born and made”. As to nature and nurture’s interactions, that’s explored via Auntie’s archives. The scientific, forensic tone makes for chilly viewing, never more so than when we hear directly from David Krueger, a child murderer who killed again when released on a day pass after more than 30 years of prison. Jonathan Wright

David Attenborough’s Natural Curiosities
9pm, Watch

“Remarkable regeneration” is the focus for this final episode. The salamander – a creature that holds a personal allure for Attenborough, who was given one when he was eight – can regenerate whole limbs within weeks. Such attributes may one day revolutionise modern medicine in humans, once we can work out the whys and hows. Moose and other deer also grow back the antlers they shed every year. It’s like biological witchcraft. Ben Arnold

10,000BC
10pm, Channel 5

Final episode of the survival challenge following would-be mesolithic men and women as they brave two months in the Bulgarian wilderness. With Mike seriously ill, tensions are fraying between the four remaining contestants. New leader Mel is worried about cracking under the pressure, and the situation worsens overnight as the ground freezes over, forcing the group to rely on their rations. However, it isn’t all doom and gloom: they overcome their fatigue to create a cave painting. Yabadabadoo! Hannah J Davies

House Of Fools
10pm, BBC2

With Julie’s Bistro seeking an injection of PR adrenaline, Vic and Bosh are recruited to produce a video. Only one problem: Vic has written the script for his marketing masterpiece on the back of a wanderlustful moth with a penchant for undergarments. Could a resolution be found in the fact that Erik, Bob’s Scandinavian sulksmith of a son, seems to bear a physical (though not behavioural) resemblance to teen pop heartthrob Mags Flagonnoman? BBC Breakfast’s Steph McGovern guest stars. Mark Jones

Togetherness
10.35pm, Sky Atlantic

Despite the intimacy between them having ebbed, flowed and irrevocably disintegrated throughout this first series, the four main protagonists have remained united in their feelings of loneliness, despair, resignation and fragile optimism. This final episode sees Michelle and David going on a team trip to make their charter-school bid, and Alex preparing to leave town after finally scoring an acting role, bidding farewell to a newly positive Brett and determined to make a final grand gesture to Tina. Rachel Aroesti
