Monday Night Football hammer Maurizio Sarri over 'strange' Eden Hazard comments

Monday Night Football pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Redknapp have taken a dim view on Maurizio Sarri's comments over the future of Eden Hazard after the Belgian scored twice in a 2-0 win for Cheslea over West Ham.

The winger was irresistable at Stamford Bridge as he took the Hammers apart and speaking after the game his manager claimed that he could not be replaced when asked about rumours he could be leaving to join Real Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane's club are expected to launch a bid to buy the Belgium international for £100million this summer. According to the Chelsea boss, his player is worth more than that sum.

He went further to say that it would be "really very hard" to find a player to fill the void that would be left by the sale of Hazard.

"It’s too cheap," said Sarri. "In this market it’s too cheap.

"I cannot do anything I think because the club agrees with me and so, if Eden wants to make another experience, it’s very difficult to keep him."

Neville and Redknapp were taken aback by his comments.

"I think he’s honest," said the retired Liverpool midfielder. "Too honest. I don’t think he’s great in front of the press. I criticised Sarri about how he spoke about Callum Hudson-Odoi on his international debut. It’s not right, he shouldn’t say that about his player.

'They are wrong!' Hazard tells Chelsea fans exactly what they want to hear over Madrid chants

"It’s the first thing his agent will use in negotiations, even your manager has said it!"

Sarri had claimed to have not seen Hudson-Odoi as he played for England, despite the teenager being praise for his performance in Gareth Southgate's side.

"If I was the owner of the club or in the boardroom I’d probably be seething with that," said Neville. "I don’t think being too honest is a problem, well done to him for that, but I don’t think the club will be too happy.

"The interpreter was jumping in, trying to change his mind a little bit.  It was a strange thing to hear, usually they’d say they are fighting to keep him."
