Scots dad who fled Ukraine home with young family makes it safely to Poland

A Scots dad who fled Ukraine with his newborn baby has made it safely to Poland after spending 38 hours at the border.

Dad-of-two Ken Stewart lived 40 miles west of Kiev with wife Tania, and children Yaryna, aged three, and Douglas, who was born two weeks ago.

An air base just a few miles away from his house was attacked on Thursday and military planes were flying overhead.

The family fled but was forced to join a queue of hundreds of cars trying to get into Poland, which is a member of the European Union.

Ukrainian tractor 'steals huge Russian tank' in footage shared by MP

The tractor was filmed towing the huge armoured vehicle. (Twitter)

The footage shows the farm vehicle towing the tank along the road as a man desperately runs after it.

Conservative MP for Plymouth Moor View and former Army Officer Johnny Mercer posted the video to Twitter with the caption: "No expert, but the invasion doesn't seem to be going particularly well".

It comes after the news that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is being abandoned by some of his closest advisers, with several MPs withdrawing their support for the Kremlin following the country's Ukraine invasion.

Footage shows moment man 'glassed' in face during late night brawl in Scots town

Shocking footage has shown the moment a man is 'glassed' in the face during a rammy in Falkirk.

The fight, which was caught on camera, broke out on Vicar Street in the town centre, shortly after 11.30pm on Saturday night.

It shows two men charging towards two others, with one shouting "come oan then", before throwing what is believed to have been a glass at the man's face.

He was then punched and kicked at the underpass, before covering his face and dropping to the ground.

Motorists to be impacted by two number plate rules changes from March

Two number plate changes come into force from March 1, 2022. (Getty)

Motorists will be subject to two number plate changes coming into force within weeks.

Cars registered from March 1 will be given a 22 tag instead of the current 71 registration number.

The new plates - for both cars and vans - will also be made from new materials.

These materials are said to be tougher making them more resistant to both damage and abrasion.
