City University's Professor Adrian Monck has taken issue with Nick Davies's view that British newspapers gullibly accepted the Blair government's case for war in Iraq. He quotes a series of articles - from the Daily Mail, the Financial Times, the Daily Telegraph plus two Times columnists - that poured scorn on Blair's WMD claims. Monck concludes: "Whatever else happened, newspaper readers were given a healthy dose of realism in the interpretation of the dossier. Of course, MPs don't always read newspapers..."
