Monaco Grand Prix 2025: Start time, grid positions, how to watch F1 live and weather forecast today

The Monaco Grand Prix takes place today as the most iconic race on the Formula One calendar takes centre stage once again.

A mandatory two-stop rule has been imposed for this year’s race on the streets of Monte Carlo in an attempt to create more jeopardy on a circuit that can resemble something of a procession, with overtaking almost impossible.

Qualifying, as ever, will be pivotal at Monaco, with home favourite Charles Leclerc pipped to pole position by Lando Norris as Lewis Hamilton was dropped from fourth to seventh by a three-place grid penalty for impeding Max Verstappen.

Verstappen won last week at Imola to move to within 22 points of Oscar Piastri in the battle for the world title, with Norris only 13 points behind his McLaren team-mate.

Leclerc set the pace in the first practice session ahead of Verstappen, with the Williams of Alex Albon splitting the two McLarens.
