The histrionic emotion register of the performances in this French drama undermines a candid and sometimes perceptive portrait of an abusive relationship. Tony (Emmanuelle Bercot) has been admitted to a rehabilitation unit after a severe skiing accident. During therapy, she gradually comes to terms with her turbulent and destructive marriage to charismatic narcissist Georgio (Vincent Cassel). The reliance on hefty chunks of flashback, while formally clunky, is not as much of a problem as a redundant and overlong subplot about Tony’s friendship with a group of younger fellow patients in the hospital.
