Netflix show The Baby-Sitters Club follows the adventures of five middle-schoolers who band together to start a babysitting business.
Based on the book series of the same title by Ann Martin, it stars Sophie Grace, Malia Baker, Momona Tamada, Shay Rudolph and Xochitl Gomez as the seventh-grade students.

Each of the five friends has her personal style, but fashion-obsessed Claudia Kishi, played by Japanese-Canadian actress Momona, steals the show with the artsy vibe of her outfits, put together by costume designer Cynthia Summers, who found inspiration in 1990s films such as Clueless.
Her adventurous style stands out amid the more tween-appropriate get-ups of her fellow babysitters.

Claudia’s a true budding fashionista, unafraid to play with fun accessories such as headbands and lemon- or watermelon-shaped earrings, and to go all out with bold looks that include a faux fur leopard-print coat and a chic lace blouse paired with checked trousers.
For a very difficult maths exam, Claudia uses fashion as a motivational booster, opting for a black long-sleeved dress with a white Peter Pan collar, paired with cat’s-eye glasses and pearl earrings that wouldn’t look out of place on a Paris or Milan fashion catwalk.

While Claudia, who excels at art but is not a model student, ends up flunking the exam, her fabulous and unconventional approach to fashion keeps her – and viewers – inspired, and is a pleasure to watch as the five friends and entrepreneurs build a business and a lifetime worth of memories.
