Penrith's Paul Momirovski is facing a ban of up to three weeks for a high shot on Brisbane playmaker Tom Deaden that went unpunished during Thursday night's NRL thriller at Suncorp Stadium.
The Panthers centre was hit with a grade-two dangerous contact charge by the NRL's match review committee on Friday.
The incident happened in the 16th minute of unbeaten Penrith's 20-12 win, with Momirovski collecting Dearden around the head with his arm after the young halfback had launched a kick.
It went without penalty and Dearden bounced back up to his feet, but the shot was enough to warrant at least two weeks on the sidelines according the MRC.
An early guilty plea will mean Momirovski misses a fortnight, but, if he contests the charge at the judiciary and fails, he will be suspended for three weeks.
The likely ban opens the door for Brent Naden to make his return to the NRL for the first time since testing positive to cocaine after last year's grand final.
