Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, right throughout his decorated managerial career, has made a name for himself as ‘the Special One‘.
But since being axed by Manchester United nearly a year ago, Mourinho has not since stepped back into the dugout, instead using his time as a TV pundit and now an ambassador for Paddy Power Games.
And the new Paddy Power advert seems to have adopted a ‘special’ theme, with Mourinho making fun of his own career at Old Trafford.
Opening the advert, Mourinho says: “It is not easy being special, let me explain. To be special in Milan, in Madrid… but not all great achievements get trophies.”
The advert then cuts to a shot of a newspaper headline saying ‘United get second.’ Whilst looking at the newspaper, Mourinho says: “Not all great achievements get trophies.”
Mourinho is then filmed alongside the famous laundry bin, which he used to smuggle himself into inside the dressing room during a Champions League ban. And, hanging out of the bin, is a pair of trousers with mud on the knees from his famous Old Trafford celebration.
Next up, Mourinho answers the door to a postman who is delivering a letter, that is after the doorbell tune is the same of the classic tune that people used to sing his name to.
Then Mourinho is filmed talking to a dog inside a kitchen where, if you look closely, you can see a ‘I love JT’ magnet on the fridge in reference to former Chelsea captain John Terry who played under Mourinho at Chelsea.
The hidden features continue as the next scene shows a bookcase featuring books, two of which are titled ‘The Voyeur’ and ‘Le Specialiste En Failure,’ plus a red bus, referencing his tactical approach of famously ‘parking the bus.’
