Moment US forces storm Iranian cargo ship as war hots up again

This is the moment US Marines seized an Iranian-flagged cargo ship attempting to bypass a port blockade putting peace talks between the two countries in further jeopardy.

Donald Trump said American forces struck and then took control of the vessel after issuing a warning.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, the US President claimed Marines "stopped them right in their tracks by blowing a hole in the engine room" after it tried to get through the US blockade.

In the footage a US navy personnel can be heard shouting: “Vacate your engine room, vacate your engine room, we're prepared to subject you to disabling fire".

"Today, an Iranian-flagged cargo ship named TOUSKA, nearly 900 feet long and weighing almost as much as an aircraft carrier, tried to get past our Naval Blockade, and it did not go well for them," Trump wrote.

He added: "The TOUSKA is under US Treasury Sanctions because of their prior history of illegal activity. We have full custody of the ship, and are seeing what's on board!"

Iran said it was a violation of the current ceasefire branding it an "act of armed piracy". Tehran has reportedly launched drone strikes on US military vessels in the Gulf of Oman in response.

Iranian officials last week reversed the reopening of the strait of Hormuz and reimposed restrictions on the vital shipping lane after the US refused to end its blockade of Iranian ports.

Trump has vowed that the naval blockade will continue until a deal was agreed by the two countries.

It comes as the White House said US Vice President JD Vance would lead another delegation for a second round of peace talks with Iran in Pakistan on Monday evening.

Trump's Middle East Envoy, Steve Witkoff, and the President’s son-in-law Jared Kushner are also due to attend.

Tehran has not yet confirmed its officials will be at the meeting but state media reported that officials will not participate while the US port blockade remains in place.

On Sunday, Iranian state media reported officials would not attend due to the "continuation of the so-called naval blockade, violation of the ceasefire and threatening US rhetoric".
