Moment urban explorer falls through roof of abandoned building and is left dangling over huge drop

This is the moment an urban explorer dices with death after his legs become wedged in the ceiling of the Ark Synagogue.

In the video, which has been posted on Youtube, a group of explorers can be seen entering the abandoned Grade II listed building, over a wall.

The shaky footage shows the group, which appears to be four strong, climbing around inside the building, known as the Greenbank Synagogue.

For a few minutes the group, who are trespassing on the land, are in darkness until they appear in the main Ark.

Graffiti, dusty pews and neglected paint work face the explorers, in what used to be a beautiful place of worship.

However after checking out the open space, the trespassers decide to go up into the rafters - which is when things get a little sticky.

As one of the group attempts to climb over the wooden slats, he can be seen becoming unsteady and then falling.

The video then pans to a shot, in the main Ark area, which shows a pair of legs dangling through the ceiling - with a big drop below.

Another member of the group then says "oh s**t he has gone through the roof."

The man, called 'Little Nuisance' is asked "can you get up?" as his legs swing to and fro in the crumbling ceiling.

As the camera makes its way closer the luckless explorer attempts to try to hoist himself back to safety.

And after some minutes wiggling about in the roof, the man manages to remove himself from the dangerous ceiling.

The man, referred to as 'nuisance' in the video caught the moment he fell through this bit of roof, on camera (liverpool echo)

After the incident one of the explorers says: "You fully just nearly broke your legs lad" to which he replies: "I nearly f*****g died."

His mate then says: "You would have landed on the second platform, but you would have broken your legs, definitely."

He then adds: "I have got it on camera mate." (NIB YOU TUBE CHANNEL HERE)

After the dangerous adventure the group posted the video online and wrote: "Mad little adventure into the Ark Synagogue Liverpool, also known as Greenbank Synagogue. Well Nuisance came the closest to death he has come yet, we both managed to get it on camera.

"Could have been so much worse, thankfully it's just gonna be a mad memory for us all."

The drop the man could have suffered would have inevitably left him with at the very least some broken bones, but could have been much worse (liverpool echo)

In 2017 Greenbank Synagogue was given the go ahead to be transformed into luxury apartments.

The ECHO reported that developers NC Architecture had applied for permission to convert the disused Synagogue into 22 apartments, as well as build 36 new apartments within the grounds.

However two years later, building work is yet to begin.
