Moment teenager BBC politics reporter is interrupted by teenager who starts repeating him during live broadcast

This is the hilarious moment an excited teenager interrupted a live politics report by a BBC presenter who smoothly sidestepped around the boy and carried on with the broadcast.

Political editor Tim Donovan was on Thursday reporting from Uxbridge on the final leg of the Tory leadership race and upcoming hustings.

Towards the end of his report a smiling teenager on his phone appeared in the frame and began shouting and parroting what Mr Donovan was saying.

He then stepped square in front of the camera, blocking the reporter, prompting Mr Donovan to quickly sidestep around the teenager and finish his sentence without missing a beat.

As he threw back to the newsroom, he nodded at the shouting teen.

Presenter Seb White posted the video on Twitter praising Mr Donovan: “This is why I love local news. On BBC One just now. Wait for it... You'll need the sound on. Well done @BBCTimDonovan.”

It has since been shared hundreds of times.

Some compared the moment to an Alan Partridge skit.

“What a lovely sidestep and then delivery of 'its now down.... to 5 thousand.' Alan would be proud,” wrote one person.

While another called for the teen to be the UK’s next Prime Minister.

They wrote: “Can we have that lad as PM instead please....?”
