Moment Range Rover driver gets out to confront mum and daughter in horrific road rage flashpoint

The shocking moment a Range Rover driver purposefully intimidated a woman motorist before blocking her path with his car has been captured on camera.

In the video, the man operating the vehicle can be seen driving closely behind the woman's car before overtaking her and getting out of his in what looks like an attempt to confront her.

The dramatic scene was captured by the woman's 14-year-old daughter, who filmed the incident on her mobile phone, a court has heard.

The 4x4 driver, Ian Williams, 36, accused the woman of damaging his new white Range Rover.

However, Swansea Crown Court heard that Williams had in fact caused the damage himself by hitting a parked car during an incident that happened earlier on, WalesOnline reports .

The petrified woman - who was in a Mini convertible - was able to drive away from Williams, but he soon caught up with her again and tried to confront her at a motorway junction.

The incident took place on September 16 this year at lunchtime, Sophie Hill, prosecuting, said.

During this time, the victim was driving down the A4067, in Wales, when she saw a white 2019 plate Range Rover Evoque in her rear-view mirror.

The woman told the court that the Range Rover was so close that she could see the driver - Ian Williams - clearly in her mirror, who she added was "making finger gestures" at her.

The court also heard that the concerned woman asked her daughter to film what was happening as she believed the Range Rover driver was under the influence of something, or using his mobile phone, due to the way he was driving.

Williams then proceeded to overtake the woman before slowing down and stopping his car in the middle of the road in front of her.

The prosecutor said Williams then got out and approached the Mini while shouting and pointing at the driver and punching the wing mirror.

The terrified victim managed to get away by manoeuvring around Williams' car that was effectively blocking her way, and the police were alerted.

The court heard that Williams is ashamed of his actions.

Williams was released on bail for sentencing in the week commencing January 10.
