A mother in New York has thwarted a kidnapping attempt, pulling her five-year-old son out the window of the suspects' car as they were about to drive away.
Street surveillance footage posted by New York's Police Department on Twitter shows a man grabbing the boy from the street in Queens and dragging him into a parked car.
The boy's fast-moving mother, Diaz Lopez, is then seen racing over to the car, and scuffling with someone in the front seat before managing to pull her son out the front passenger window.
Ms Lopez told local media she had been walking down the street with the five-year-old and his siblings around 8:00pm when the boy was suddenly snatched.
A 24-year-old man was later arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping and reckless endangerment.
Ms Lopez said she had never seen the suspects before.
