Moment McFly's Danny Jones surprises Pride of Manchester award winner on stage - and her reaction was fantastic

If you have ever met your favourite celebrity, you'll know you can try everything to stay calm but the best reactions are always the excitable ones.

And that was no more so the case than for 15-year-old Emma Harris as she picked up her Young Fundraiser award at the Pride of Manchester .

The teenager's delight at seeing McFly star Danny Jones enter the stage to present her award was undeniable.

So much so, she ran and jumped to hug the singer so tight and wouldn't let go.

And the crowd absolutely loved it.

Coronation Street star Kym Marsh, who was presenting the event at The Principal Hotel, said: "Well that is a welcome if ever I saw one."

Danny then added: "That was the best entrance to the stage I have ever had in my life."

Liberty X star Michelle Heaton was also on hand to help present the award - even if she didn't get in on the hugging action.

She told Emma: "My daughter is seven and if she grows up to be as amazing as you I will be very very proud."

Emma has raised more than £20,000 for the Cheshire Down’s Syndrome Support Group by selling gingerbread ‘sock’ biscuits.

Born with Down’s Syndrome, Emma launched the gingerbread sock appeal two years ago.

With the help of her dad Chris, she approached a bakery about producing the biscuits to be sold on World Down’s Syndrome Day to raise funds and awareness.

Not only did Emma's idea help raise the profile of the charity, which supports more than 100 people with Down's Syndrome and their families, but has raised awareness among more than 10,000 school children.

The treats didn't end there as the teen was left starstruck for a second time when she received a video message from cheeky singer Olly Murs.

The former X Factor star said on Twitter after the ceremony: "was my pleasure! Sounds like it was a special night xx."

And a special night it was.
