Moment idiotic man parks in the middle of Deansgate to nip to Tesco

This is the moment an idiotic driver blocked cyclists and pedestrians on Deansgate so they could go shopping at Tesco. The grey Audi was spotted by annoyed residents on Sunday (May 28) after they realised the car had been in that position for a while.

The short clip shows the Audi parked sideways on the road covering up a pedestrian crossing and bike lane. A few seconds later, a man is seen sauntering towards the car with what looks like a drink in his hand.

As he enters the car, the man gestures to a blue car which is a few feet away. After the gesture, the blue car appears to make a u-turn in what is a one way road, driving the wrong way before the pair make off in the same direction.

The video was taken by a local resident who says there has been some confusion on that part of Deansgate, in Manchester city centre, which shares a junction with Blackfriars Street and St Mary's Gate following the instalment of a bus gate.

Speaking tot he MEN, the resident who preferred to remain anonymous said: "Because we see quite regularly since the new bus gate has been put in a lot of people go to drive down Deansgate, clock the sign and then turn around or reverse back out.

"So we thought that's what he was doing at first and then kind of noticed he's not actually moving.

"And then two lads got out of the car and went into Tesco, and that's when I start taking the video. There was another car that had driven up Deansgate and halfway through the video clip you see him coming back the other way, it's just one way now.

"We see a lot of people either not see or ignore the bus gate sign, but you see a lot of people who get to them and then spot them. "This video is a quite an extreme case because you can see he's blocking pedestrians and cyclists."
