Moment fighting couple fall 25ft from balcony and survive death-defying plunge

This is the terrifying moment a couple plunge 25ft to the pavement after breaking through the railings of their balcony during a row.

Olga Volkova and Yevgeny Karlagin, both 35, were seen having an angry dispute by passers-by who were filming the picturesque view of the street in St Petersburg, Russia.

They were rushed to hospital where they had surgery for serious but not life-threatening injuries after crashing to the ground from the second floor of their apartment building.

In footage taken at around 10am, the balcony railings appear to come loose when the couple lean on them, causing them to lose balance and fall through.

Authorities in St Petersburg are now said to be investigating the incident after the couple, who have a young son together, reportedly suffered broken limbs.

The state prosecutor's office is checking whether the balcony was poorly fitted or in a state of disrepair, which lead to charges being brought against those responsible.

Eyewitness Denis told Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper: “I was walking with my colleague and filming the historic street view. “I noticed the row and began to shoot when this happened.

“Someone with medical experience was nearby, and checked their pulses, saying they had both survived. We called an ambulance."
