Moment elderly victim has £30,000 watch stolen in central London ambush

CCTV captured the moment a 73-year-old man had a £30,000 Patek Phillipe watch ripped from his wrist in a robbery that left him so traumatised he now plans to leave the UK.

The victim was ambushed in broad daylight by Zakaria Senouci, 27, on a street near Hyde Park in April last year.

Southwark Crown Court heard Senouci paid €700 for the theft of the watch, a family heirloom which has not been recovered, following the robbery.

Senouci, a mechanic who applied for asylum after arriving in the UK aged 22, was sentenced today (23 April) to three years and nine months in prison.
