Moment driver rushed to hospital after horror two car Dublin collision at traffic lights in Palmerstown

This is the moment a driver was rushed to hospital after a horror two car collision at a traffic light junction in south Dublin.

Images obtained by Dublin Live shows a car on its side resting against the lights in Palmerstown after the crash which happened just before 10pm on Tuesday night.

The two cars smashed into each other at the junction with significant damage caused to both.

As a precaution, one of the drivers was brought to St. James's Hospital following the crash but no other injuries were reported.

A Garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live: "We are investigating a road traffic collision involving two cars which occurred on the R148 Palmerstown Bypass, Dublin yesterday evening, Tuesday 28th July at 9.50pm.

"Two vehicles collided at a traffic light junction and significant material damage was caused to the vehicles."

She continued: "The driver of one vehicle was taken to St. James’s Hospital as a precaution."

She added: "No other injuries were reported and investigations are ongoing."
