Moment driver paying for parking ticket behind wheel is caught red-handed

  • A driver in Guildford was caught using her mobile phone to pay for a parking ticket while her vehicle was in stationary traffic.
  • Footage of the incident, shared by Surrey Roadsafe on Tuesday, 26 May, showed the motorist being observed.
  • An unmarked vehicle from the Vanguard Road Safety Team, a specialised unit within Surrey Police , pulled up alongside her.
  • The driver was visibly surprised and sighed in disbelief upon noticing the police vehicle.
  • She was issued a Traffic Offence Report, which resulted in a £200 fine and 6 penalty points being added to her driving licence.
