Police are hunting a cyclist who headbutted a City worker to the ground after a near-miss on a pedestrian crossing.
The cyclist ran a red light in Farringdon Street in the City of London, narrowly avoiding hitting the pedestrian who was crossing the road.
CCTV footage shows him getting off his bike, coming back towards the businessman and headbutting him in the face.
He then calmly cycles away as his victim remains sprawled on the pavement.
The victim, a 57-year-old man, was left needing stitches in a wound above his eye as well as suffering ligament damage to his arm where he fell.
The City of London Police are asking the public for help after the assault that took place on Farringdon Street on August 22, 2019, at around 1:45pm.
PC Fisk, from the City of London Police, said: “We are asking the public to help us identify this cyclist, whose needlessly violent actions has left a member of the public with some nasty injuries.
“If anyone has any information about the man who carried out this assault, please contact us. He is described as a white man in his 40s, around 5ft 10, of medium build, with short greying hair.”
