This is the terrifying moment a couple were swept into huge waves after trying to take pictures on a cliff edge in Hawaii.
According to witnesses, the couple had gone past warning signs into a dangerous spot off the coast of Oahu on Sunday.
The pair fell off the cliff into the waters below, drifting apart as the waves crashed above them.
They tried to paddle to safety but the currents proved to strong and they struggled to stay afloat.

Lifeguards deployed a jet ski operator to save the couple and managed to retrieve them from the rocky shores.
They are believed to have not suffered any injuries.
Lt. Kawicka Eckart, who oversees lifeguards that conducted the couple's rescue last Sunday, said: "We had a jet ski operator in the ocean already due to the high surf, they responded from around the coast, and met up with the two lifeguards.

"We put them on our jet ski and brought them in."
Hawaiian officials have continuously warned tourists against trespassing into dangerous territories for the sake of posting pictures for social media.
Shane Enright of Honolulu Ocean Safety said he hopes the video will reach tourists to respect warning signs prohibiting anyone from entering an unsafe area.

He told ABC News: "Social media paints a picture that all of these locations are fun, safe, do it for the 'gram, get those likes.
"But we're hoping that this piece of social media can paint a different picture that there are hazards. There are dangers that can happen so quickly."
This comes as Hawaii experiences its biggest swell of the year, with waves reaching as high as 14 feet across the county’s coasts.
Hawaiian officials have issued a high surf warning since last Sunday, warning locals to beware of strong currents and rip tides.
