This insane video showed a car reversing the wrong way down The Strand early this morning.
It was taken from an apartment block overlooking the three-lane carriageway at around 1.20am.
The progress of the car as it makes its way down The Strand is accompanied by a symphony of furious drivers beeping their car horns.
One man can be seen hanging out of the front passenger window before the car is turned around.
Onlooker Aaron Murtagh, who filmed the video, said: "It was outrageous. I couldn't believe the volume of the beeping that was going on from drivers as this car was being driven the wrong way down the road.
"It was stopping all the traffic until the police intercepted it with a blocking manoeuvre.
"It was like something from The Fast and the Furious, almost like it was choreographed."
Police were approached for comment.
The latest incident follows another in which a suspected stolen car was chased by armed police through Liverpool.
At one point the white Honda Jazz and pursuing officers appeared to be heading down the wrong way down Erskine Street in Islington during the early hours of yesterday morning.
