Moment bride is drenched by water-spraying plane as she poses with new husband

While most brides pray for the sun to shine on the biggest day of their life, one couple decided 900 litres of water poured all over them was just what would make their special day.

Priscila and Alisson posed for the epic photoshoot which saw them being drenched with cold water being dropped from a plane hovering above them.

The loved up couple - wearing all white - were engulfed in water and cheered as a rainbow briefly appeared behind them.

The unique wedding ceremony was captured by photographer Welliton Barbosa, who said: "Every job is a new opportunity to do something different and special.

"I have learned to sharpen my perception and today, I use this ability to get shots which are out of the ordinary.

"When people hire me for a service, I'm not just a professional photographer but a person who is very passionate about what he does.

"If they have a dream, that dream also becomes mine.

"I don't know how to do it any other way."

It comes as people across England are finally able to tie the knot with their loved ones after months of having to postpone their big day due to the uncertainty caused by the Covid lockdown.

But Prime Minister Boris Johnson went ahead with the fourth and final step of his government's roadmap to ending lockdown on July 19, meaning couples are now free to celebrate and have as many guests as they like.

July 19, so-dubbed Freedom Day, saw all legal restrictions on social contact effectively coming to an end a whole 18 months since first being imposed when the pandemic hit last March.

It means there are no more 30-people caps for weddings, funerals or other ceremonies, a restriction that understandably deterred so many couple from getting married during lockdown.

Freedom Day came after the government had already delayed the end of lockdown by four weeks, a move that sparked warnings that up to 50,000 couples planning to get married after June 21 - the original day rules were supposed to lift - would be at risk.
