Thieves were caught on camera TOWING a family's car away from outside their north Manchester home. Shocking footage shows the Honda Jazz - worth around £1,000 - being stolen during a 6am raid in Crumpsall.
One man can be seen inspecting the car, before his accomplice reverses into the side road and picks it up by the rear. Dad-of-four Ayaz Dar, 38, woke up find the car, used to ferry his kids to two different schools, had been swiped.
Inside it were homework books and school bags. Rushing back to check the CCTV footage, he was shocked to see that the thieves had used a large tow truck to steal the vehicle in Hazelbottom Road.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News , the IT technician said the theft has made him worried about living in the area, adding that it was 'surreal' that it came at a time families are already living hand to mouth. He said: "I came out to go to work and realised the car wasn't there. I looked back at the cameras and saw someone walk over to the car, look in the side window and then a tow truck reverse and take it away.
"I just couldn't believe it. They targeted my car and I have no idea why, it is only a 2004 Honda Jazz and isn't worth anything. It isn't like I own a really expensive sports car.
"We obviously all slept right through it. There wasn't any loud noises in the night so it was just surreal."
Ayaz first had CCTV cameras installed outside his home when neighbours had warned him that there had been a spate of robberies in the area when he first moved in four years ago. He said he took the decision to buy the cameras to give him 'piece of mind'.
He reported the theft to police but is now left worrying where he will find the money to buy a new car. He has four children, aged 13, nine, eight and five.
He added: "I have four young children and this has made me concerned for my safety and their safety. The car is so important to us for the school runs as their schools are too far away to walk with young children.
"I am now scared to buy another car in case that is taken too. It was on a quiet private road so it just doesn't make any sense." Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the incident was reported at 8.40am on Wednesday morning and that an investigation is underway.
