Moment Bradley Walsh loses cool after Jenny Ryan answers bizarre question

This is the moment Bradley Walsh lost his cool slightly after Jenny "The Vixen" Ryan answered a bizarre question correctly - leaving him visibly dumfounded.

Quizzer Jenny, "one of Britain's finest quiz brains", was The Chaser up against the team of four on Thursday evening which included events organiser Kathryn, 31, of Mansfield, who admitted she was a "total nerd" when it comes to superheroes and Marvel comic books.

The 31-year-old said she would "spend it on her daughter" if she were to win some money.

She was up first. And with her first question being Marvel related, she went on to secure £5,000 in her cash builder round which Bradley declared a "very good start".

But when she faced The Chaser, things eventually took a turn.

"OK here we go, Chaser is one behind, we are two from home" Bradley said. "Here's your question. What liquid has been hailed by scientists as 'among the most nutritious and highly calorific substances on the planet'?"

The answer was either A 'Salamander Blood', B 'Cockroach Milk' or C 'Seahorse Urine'.

A little dubious, Kathryn eventually opted for the "most disgusting" and answered 'seahorse urine', with the Chaser answering without hesitation.

But the same could not be said for Kathryn.

"Alright, you've put seahorse urine," Bradley said.

"It's an absolute guess," she admitted. "I thought I will just go for the one that is the most disgusting to be honest with you."

And Bradley seemed to agree with her in that the answer could not be cockroach milk.

"I've got to be honest with you cockroach milk, I mean do they have teats?" he asked.

After cracking up at his own Robert Di Niro impression of a "funny scene", he was visibly shocked when cockroach milk turned out to be the correct answer.

"OK, here we go," he said. "Correct answer is, it's got to be salamander blood surely. Got to be."

His Di Niro impression got another outing though when the correct answer was revealed.

"Cockroach milk. Really?" he said.

He was confident Jenny had answered incorrectly too.

"But I don't think she's got it," Bradley said. "She can't possibly have got it

"No one in their right mind would put cockroach milk."

But the smug-looking Chaser proved him wrong.

"Chaser has put ... she'll go salamander blood," he said.

And he could not believe it when it turned out she'd actually got it right.

"How did you get that?" Bradley asked. "Really?"

"I guess they were looking for a sustainable nutrition source for the future," Jenny explained.

"And cockroaches they say are going to survive pretty much anything. They are everywhere, they are going to be a good source for us to be [eating] in the future."

Clearly feeling defeated himself, Bradley said: "Kathryn, I am so sorry. It's been a pleasure nonetheless, however, you have been caught and for you the chase is over."

The Chase airs week days on ITV from 5pm.
