Moment baby left stranded on floor during vicious fight involving three men at London Tube station

A baby was left stranded on the floor as a vicious fight broke out between three men at a London Tube station.

British Transport Police are investigating mobile phone footage shared online after the incident at Highbury and Islington around 5.30pm on Thursday.

Women are heard screaming as two smartly-dressed men brawl with a third man in casual clothes.

A child, in a white baby romper suit, is seen sitting on the floor at the foot of stairs as the three men trade kicks and punches feet away.

Passers-by attempt to separate the trio, including a woman a formal yellow dress. At one point the third man is lifted off his feet in the melee.

In the absence of full details released by BTP, eyewitnesses claimed one man punched the other while he was holding the baby causing the infant to fall to the ground. They then stamped on him and he eventually ran off.

The force said: “Officers received a report of a fight at Highbury and Islington Underground station at around 5.30pm yesterday.

“Officers are aware of footage circulating on social media, and the incident is currently being investigated.”

The Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.

Anyone with information is asked to text 61016, quoting reference 558 of 17 July.
