Moment Aer Lingus pilot makes 'rusty' landing at Dublin Airport during storm

This is the moment an  Aer Lingus pilot battled with the high winds of Storm Ciara before making a safe landing at Dublin Airport.

The plane can be seen violently rocking from side to side as it comes in for landing last Saturday morning.

And while some of the passengers may have felt a little queasy as disembarked the plane, onlookers were quick to praise the brave pilot for showing nerves of steel to pull off a safe landing.

Jim O'Brien, who took the video, shared the footage on Twitter and praised the flight crew.

He said: "Rusty landing but controlled well  Dublin Airport."

Last weekend's horrific weather played havoc with flights with passengers on one flight from Dublin left "vomiting and crying" as their plane attempted to land four times in Birmingham before being diverted.

Wales Rugby fan Jason Allen, who flew to Ireland to watch his team's defeat against Ireland at the  Aviva Stadium in Dublin, described it as the "worst flight of his life"

He said: "Taking off was a bit shaky because of the wind but the journey was fine but while we descended to go into Birmingham it was really shaky and as we were coming down the plane was shooting back up.

"People were being sick and quite a few people were crying and frightened because we were circling and dropping and experiencing full on turbulence.

"I was annoyed because the flight in front of us to Birmingham was cancelled so they knew what the weather was going to be like."
