Molly-Mae Hague shares update with fans after 'controversial' comments

Molly-Mae Hague updated fans on her life after facing backlash for some unearthed controversial comments.

A video posted on Twitter featuring the 22-year-old, who rose to fame after appearing on Love Island 2019, has gathered a lot of negative attention with people claiming her comments were controversial.

The clip, from a year ago, showed Molly-Mae talking to Dragons' Den's Steven Bartlett on his The Diary Of A CEO podcast.

In it, she said: "You’re given one life and it’s down to you what you do with it. You can literally go in any direction.

"When I’ve spoken about that in the past, I have been slammed a little bit, with people saying, 'It’s easy for you to say that, you’ve not grown in poverty, you’ve not grown up with major money struggles, so for you to sit there and say that we all have the same 24 hours in a day, it’s not correct'.

"And I’m like, but technically what I’m saying is correct. We do. So I understand that we all have different backgrounds and we’re all raised in different ways and we do have different financial situations, but I do think if you want something enough, you can achieve it."

She has come under fire and has been criticised with people disagreeing with her claims, instead thinking some have more privilege and advantages in life than others.

But as the world critiqued her comments, Molly-Mae jetted off to New York to celebrate the new year.

Over the past couple of days she has shared an endless amount of snaps from her trip, looking as flawless as ever alongside other half Tommy Fury.

She shared selfies, shots of the scenery and a small video clip of the couple sharing a kiss as the sound of fireworks erupted in the background.

Despite the recent backlash, her fans and followers still had her back as they rushed to the comments to share their love for the star.

Some told of how they were expecting a proposal from her beau and were disappointed not to see it.

Neda said: "So.....no ring? I was rooting for an engagement!"

Josh said: "Fully thought this was a post announcing that you’re engaged. Maybe next timeee."

Lola said: "TOMMY WHERE'S THE RING."
